The maiden edition of Asia Cold Chain Show successfully concluded with exclusive buyers from supply chain, food, retail and pharmaceutical companies thronging the three - day event. With 2184 buyers from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Japan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Malaysia, Nepal and Middle East, the event in its first edition has become the global market place for cold chain industry.
The show had exhibiting companies from 14 countries and the latest equipment, technology and solutions covering entire value chain of cold logistics were on display.

The concurrent industry conference, Asia Cold Chain Congress was well attended by who’s who of the industry and has an impressive line up of speakers. The sessions covered the regulatory, commercial and technical aspects of running a successful cold chain business. “There was a very interesting panel discussion on challenges being faced by domestic businesses in Thailand and it turned out to be a crash course for international companies to who intend to open business in Thailand. “, added Mathur.
The event hosted industry associations from 8 countries and a meeting was organized for the presidents of these associations to network and discuss the common opportunities and challenges for all. There was a proposal brought up to form an Asian Federation of cold storage associations to bring the industry together and explore opportunities to work together as a larger group.
Attendees of this meeting included Shri Mahendra Swarup, President, Federation of Cold Storage Association of India, Mr. Hasanuddin Yasni, President, Indonesia Cold Chain Association, Mr. Tun Aye, President, Myanmar Fishery Products Processors and Exporters Association, Ms. Catherine Xiao, Head of Intl. Dept, China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing Cold Chain Logistics Committee, Ms. Christine S. Pardinas, VP Supply Chain, Cold Chain Association of Philippines & Mr. Chimmi Dorji Hing, Director, Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
“When we launched this event in Thailand, our objective was also to bring the countries in Asia closer and provide them an annual platform to meet and network. I am really happy that we conducted the first meeting of this group with 8 countries represented. The group discussed various subjects related to the business and committed to work closer in coming years.” concluded Mathur.
The next edition of Asia Cold Chain Show has been announced from 6th to 8th July 2016 at BITEC Bangna in Bangkok.
