The additional flights will operate during a season of peak supply and demand, the company said, including Christmas, New Year celebrations and other festivities. The winter 2016 schedule will offer 10 flights per week from London Heathrow to Shanghai, an increase of three flights per week from the previous year’s winter schedule. The flights will be serviced by Boeing 777 aircraft, with the B787-9 Dreamliner set to be introduced in winter 2017. Along with additional weekly services out of London, the new route from Madrid will result in a 65-percent increase in weekly capacity from the same season of 2015. According to IAG Cargo, customers will have access to better connections between East Asia and Latin America and its wider network, spanning more than 350 destinations. Major imports and exports moving in the service include technology goods, pharmaceuticals and automobile parts.
