The Japanese shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE) announced it would be launching a containership service between West India and Savannah, Georgia starting May 2024.

According to WTOC-TV, the new offering, which will consist of nine vessels, will provide the Georgia Ports Authority with access to ten services via the Suez Canal, including nine routes to the Indian subcontinent.

Once the offering begins, the Port of Savannah will have a total of 37 ocean carrier services going to global destinations, the most of any port from the mid-Atlantic U.S. to the Gulf of Mexico.

ONE’s West India North America (WIN) service will offer a weekly route that links Hazira, Nhava Sheva, and Mundra to Savannah. It will also service Bin Qasim, Damietta, Algeciras and Jeddah, offering further connections to Mediterranean destinations.
