Packsize has introduced the X5 Nozomi, a new system developed with digital imaging company EFI that integrates automated, right-sized box production with full-color printing in a single machine.
The system is designed to streamline fulfillment by producing custom boxes at speeds of up to 570 per hour, while allowing one operator to manage the process. Unlike standard packaging systems, the X5 Nozomi prints directly onto each box, enabling companies to add shipping details, product information, regulatory labels or branded designs without separate labeling or pre-printed materials. The approach aims to simplify operations for retailers, e-commerce providers, and consumer goods companies while reducing manual handling.
“The X5 Nozomi represents the next phase in packaging innovation,” said Packsize CEO David Lockwood. “By integrating right-size packaging, and high-quality single pass print in a single workflow, we open the opportunities to unlock the value of traditional packaging to create powerful brand engagement.
The machine also generates boxes to fit each order, cutting the need for filler materials and reducing overall shipment size. Packsize says this can improve freight efficiency and sustainability by allowing more boxes to fit in each load, lowering transport emissions.
