EGourmet Solutions is a national third-party logistics provider specializing in the cold chain. It ships frozen and refrigerated products to both wholesalers and retailers, as well as direct to consumers in small parcels. Headquarters are in Kansas City, Kansas, with five locations nationwide.

In March of 2020, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, eGourmet’s volumes tripled virtually overnight. “COVID made people start ordering a lot more product online,” explains co-founder and chief operating officer Ariane Kemper. By 2024, she adds, volumes had increased by 450 percent. “We urgently needed more a scalable solution, as volumes continued to grow and client expectations around visibility, customization and delivery speed were intensifying as well.”

EGourmet chose Techdinamics as its partner in the initiative because it saw the vendor as “a true partner, willing to understand the complexities,” says Kemper. “Out-of-the-box software was not going to work for us. Their willingness to collaborate on customization and process design was critical and valuable.”

Adam Lavergne, techOMS product manager with Techdinamics, says the challenge for his company was a familiar one, given its extensive experience in working with 3PLs.

Kemper says implementation proved “difficult,” with eGourmet initially underestimating the need for internal cross-functional alignment. Multiple information systems had to be brought into the mix.

In the end, says Kemper, eGourmet Solutions “went from a largely reactive operational model to a far more proactive data-driven model today. The combination of our warehouse management system and techOMS created a fantastic, scalable solution.”

“We have automated workflows and rules-based logic that have dramatically decreased manual iterations,” Kemper adds. “We can now onboard a client with entirely customizable rules in days instead of weeks or months.”
