Freightgate Adds Carbon-Footprint Calculations to PLTX Logistics Platform

Freightgate, a developer of internet-based software for the freight and logistics industry, is now offering carbon-footprint functionality within its PLTX Platform. The service can help companies to capture, analyze and optimize the environmental impact of their logistics and supply-chain operations, the vendor said. Using Freightgate's WISA (What-If Scenario Analysis) tool within the PLTX Platform, users can generate various supply-chain scenarios that compare operational, financial and environmental impacts. The WISA results can help to determine the scenario that is most environmentally sound, while being financially and operationally viable. Supply-chain executives can achieve all of those goals within a single platform, delivered in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) mode. Freightgate's other products include I-Trek!--for internet-based supply-chain collaboration and visibility, GTM-Trek!--for requests for quotation and tender management, Tariff-Trek!--for service contract and quote management, and FMC-Trek!--for fulfilling the publishing requirements of the Federal Maritime Commission.
