Black Watch Data is the name of a new company that was formed to help companies manage the risks associated with data in enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations and upgrades, as well as issues related to data integrity and security. Black Watch initially will focus on companies that are utilizing ERP systems from SAP AG. Ultimately, it plans to expand its services to encompass all types of ERP backbones. Black Watch said it intends to aid in the reduction of cost overruns and time delays. Its Zero Defect Data dual certification program is designed to ensure a smooth go-live process, as well as defect-free data on an ongoing basis. Steve Strout, former chief executive officer of the Americas SAP Users' Group (ASUG), is serving as CEO and acting chief technology officer of Black Watch. The company is targeting a variety of industries, including telecommunications, financial services, utilities, retail, healthcare and public sector.
