LoJack Supply Chain Integrity has launched the latest generation of the LoJack SCI InTransit system for global cargo protection. The tool offers round-the-clock visibility for shipments as they move through the international supply chain, by land, air and sea. Users can manage their cargo in transit through a single user interface. The system can be customized to meet the specific needs of customers. Its tracking device can be embedded in the cargo or installed on the trailer or container door, to detect intrusion. LoJack SCI InTransit relies on a combination of global positioning system (GPS), cellular GPS, differential GPS and radio frequency technology to ensure continuous tracking. Customers have the option of integrating satellite communications technology while at sea or on the rails, for coverage in remote locations. They can set up parameters and receive alerts in the event of disruptions or problematic conditions, such as excessive humidity, tampering, or intrusion. LoJack said it recently signed a partnership and systems-integration agreement with OnAsset Intelligence, a provider of machine-to-machine systems and services. Technology from OnAsset will be incorporated into the next generation of LoJack SCI InTransit, the company said.
