Railinc Corp. has created a website for rail freight equipment reports. The new Railinc TrainFax site delivers up-to-date equipment information in a single report. It is accessible to equipment owners, lessees, investors, inspectors and other professionals conducting asset-related research. They can obtain easy-to-read reports in a standard downloadable format, based on data from rail industry sources and Railinc databases. TrainFax scans more than two million rail equipment reports and hundreds of thousands of health alerts each time it generates a report, according to Railinc product manager Rob Drew. A complete Railinc TrainFax report includes equipment ownership information, inspection reports, maintenance alerts, transportation restrictions and equipment characteristics such as weight, dimensions, features and specifications. The report does not include confidential information such as equipment age or commodities carried, Railinc noted.
