BlueStar, a global provider of systems for automatic identification, point-of-sale (POS), mobility, radio frequency identification (RFID) and digital signage, has agreed to acquire Scan-it A/S, a specialty electronics distribution in Denmark. Scan-it also serves customers in the auto ID, mobile data management and POS markets. It has been a "major player" in the auto-ID sector in Denmark, according to Mikael Svensson, managing director of BlueStar Nordic. BlueStar's regional unit operates a large local warehouse in Malmo, 45 minutes from Scan-it's offices. Both BlueStar and Scan-it work exclusively with value-added resellers, providing technology as well as business-development support.
