Dawn Swackhamer, vice president of global operations and planning technology at Pandora, discusses how Hardis Supply Chain optimized the jewelry company's inventory operations.
With more than 2,500 stores in over 100 countries, it’s an understatement to say Pandora has a complex supply chain. Inventory visibility was a particular challenge for the jewelry manufacturer-retailer until it partnered with Hardis Supply Chain, Swackhamer says.
Prior to their linkage, Pandora’s warehouse management system couldn't scale to meet growing customer demand. “In addition, we were starting to look at greater product assortment, and we were not able to innovate to meet the different factories that we were going to be opening,” Swackhamer says. “We had to start looking at how to bring our supply chain to the forefront of our growth strategy.”
Several of the big players in the market were vetted before Pandora executives chose Hardis. Pandora manufactures all its product lines in Thailand, and is opening another factory in Vietnam. The company’s processes require a partner not only to help with inventory visibility but with “logic to build into our WMS and have seamless integration for our growth strategy, which included implementing a new TMS as well as SAP for our ERP backbone.”
The ongoing implementation began in 2023 with the company’s B2B channels in its European distribution center. “In July, 2025, we did our Thailand distribution center,” Swackhamer says. “That was actually our most complex because we went live with SAP with our new TMS. We chose to do that two weeks before peak season. We went live with our core functionality and then two weeks later we went live with our secondary set of functionality. We actually had a remarkable implementation.”
A second major implementation in that same DC went live in January, 2026. “So we basically went implementation after implementation on that same technology stack,” says Swackhamer. And that also has been remarkably incident-free.”
