Arsenault Associates has updated its Vendor Evaluation Tool (VET), an interactive calendar which helps truck fleets to choose technology providers. Arsenault sells the Dossier Fleet Maintenance software. An earlier version of VET addressed suppliers of that application. According to the vendor, the new version can help users to evaluate virtually any provider of fleet software, from dispatch to document management. The calculator suggests a series of questions to be asked by fleet managers, then applies a numerical value to each answer. In the process, each technology vendor's score can be compared alongside its technology. The VET is available on the Arsenault website both as a PDF file and Excel spreadsheet. The latter is interactive, with calculations built in. Users need only enter the requested information. The PDF version includes all of the questions, but calculations are manual. Arsenault's software is designed for a variety of industries, including trucking, concrete, construction, food, beverage, education, marine and government agencies. Dossier manages tractors, trailers, trucks, buses, autos and construction and material-handling equipment.
