Walmart has opened a new distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida, serving 25 Sam's Club locations across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico.
The one-million-square-foot facility — situated 10 minutes from the Port of Jacksonville — will also store and sort imported goods to deliver to other Southeast distribution centers. The facility officially opened on April 17, and will create an estimated 250 jobs, offering employees full benefits, including medical, vision and dental insurance, as well as a matching 401(k), paid time off, and a stock purchasing plan.
“We’re proud to create a new slate of jobs in our community," the facility's general manager Frank Herrera said. "Today’s ribbon cutting is a celebration of our commitment to our associates, our community and our future."
