LOG-NET, Inc., a vendor of supply-chain software, has released version 6.0 of the company's LOG-NET application. Features of the new version include supplier interfacing, routing, schedules, itineraries, integrated carrier bookings, mapping capabilities and milk runs. Routing and itineraries allow users to optimize order and shipment routing based on product needs, access to costs, vehicle schedules and other requirements. The mapping feature allows users to view trade lanes, product distributions, inventory locations, exceptions and other logistics information in an interactive graphical mapping interface. Milk runs provide the capability to drop shipments at multiple locations. The booking feature allows for the generation of carrier bookings based on planned and optimized itineraries generated by the system. Carriers can also respond electronically with confirmations, counters or declines.
