Nuxeo, a vendor of open-source enterprise content management (ECM) software, has opened a U.K. subsidiary in London. The company said it will offer its Nuxeo 5 platform and related support services to large companies in the energy and financial services sectors. The U.K. market represents the first step in Nuxeo's plan to sells its products globally. Its ECM platform is based on Java EE standards and royalty-free software. Functionality within Nuxeo 5 includes document management, collaboration, compliance, records management, business process management, business rules management, retention management, indexing and search, and file transportation. The tool is designed to address elements such as the high volume of online content traffic, synchronization of online and off-line content, and e-mail management. Eric Baroca, vice president of operations for Nuxeo, will serve as the company's U.K. managing director.
