Cimmetry Systems, a vendor of visualization software for product design, has released version 19.2 of its AutoVue application. The new version addresses the specific requirements of printed circuit-board design and contract manufacturing for the electronics and high-tech markets. Cimmetry said it worked closely with several leading companies in that sector to build new electronic design automation (EDA) capabilities into release 19.2. New AutoVue offerings for the EDA marketplace include AutoVue EDA Professional, with native viewing, markup and real-time collaboration capabilities via the Web for manufacturing documents, PCB layouts, schematics and office documents, and AutoVue Electro-Mechanical Professional, providing format support for EDA, 3D, 2D and Office document types in a single product. In addition, said Cimmetry, the tool bridges the gap between EDA and mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD), with electro-mechanical digital mockup capabilities. Cimmetry is part of Agile Software Corp., which was recently acquired by Oracle Corp.
