CEVA Logistics Italia, the Italian arm of CEVA Logistics, will provide logistics services to Press-Di S.r.l., a local publishing group. Under a new five-year agreement, CEVA Italia will dedicate its logistics center in Melzo to activities on behalf of the new customer. Gianfranco Sgro, president and managing director of CEVA Italia, said the deal will expand the provider's presence in the Italian publishing sector, through management of fast-growing channels such as the newspaper kiosk business. The partnership involves the movement of product from pick-up points to distributors in the regions of Liguria, Piemonte, Valle d'Aosta, Lombardia and northern Emilia; returns processing from local distributors, and management of back issues of magazines and inserts. CEVA Italia also announced a new six-year contract with Pearson PBM Editori Publishing Group. That deal calls for CEVA to distribute books to agents, while managing warehouse supply on behalf of Pearson. CEVA will process some 1.2m pieces per year under the contract.
