Ultriva Inc., a vendor of software to support Lean manufacturing, has released Ultriva Electronic Kanban (UEK) 6. The latest version features a multilingual toolkit that will enable Ultriva rapidly to develop new language packs when requested by customers. The release also allows the vendor to support both global manufacturing and global supply chains. Customers can operate Lean programs, whether or not they wish to communicate with international suppliers in their own languages, or deploy Lean manufacturing processes in their own international plants. Multilingual architecture allows for the translation of a word or sentence just once, even if it is used in hundreds of screens across the application. Version 6 also includes a Mandarin language pack, to support several customers that are either manufacturing in China or are looking to communicate with suppliers in their local languages. UEK 6 can determine in real time the user's preferred language, and can generate Web pages in that language, Ultriva said.
