The warehouse management software (WMS) package from RedPrairie Corp. now offers complete raw-materials controls throughout production and finished goods handling. According to RedPrairie, the addition will result in reduced waste and improved customer confidence for consumer packaged goods, food and beverage companies. Its software can reassign raw materials to multiple work orders, due to better tracking methods, while improving the traceability of raw materials in quality-assurance processes. It also allows for improved compliance with governmental regulations, RedPrairie said. In another company development, RedPrairie has opened two additional U.S. data centers to support continued growth in its Software-as-a-Service (Saas) capabilities. The vendor is partnering with Savvis, Inc., a provider of I.T. infrastructure services, to support RedPrairie's hosting services businesses. RedPrairie has also expanded its operations in China, and opened larger offices in Shanghai. Its sales, service and development teams in Shanghai now number 88 people. The new office houses the entire team on a single floor, RedPrairie said.
