The second edition contains 30 percent more content, the company said. It covers some 100 critical functional areas, with multiple diagrams, tables and alerts. Along with new topics and updated material, the book features a new chapter on "Implementation of New Software." It covers issues of base functionality, common software differences, functional deficiencies, project success tips, how to build requests for proposal and scorecard the results, site and headquarter visits, vendor negotiations, the software selection process, and implementation. In addition, it analyzes the differences between applications offered by warehouse-management system (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendors.
