Savi Technology has joined with Avaana Systems & Services Pvt. Ltd., a technology and integration-services company based in New Delhi, India, to offer active radio frequency identification (RFID) systems to government and commercial customers in India. The two companies have signed an exclusive marketing agreement focused on Indian markets. It draws on the combined technology expertise and geographic knowledge of the partners, who will market real-time RFID systems to enhance the visibility, management, security and efficiency of supply chains in India. The companies are particularly targeting the government, defense, homeland security and transportation sectors. Under the deal, Avaana will provide Savi's RFID services and technology, which are suitable for operation in harsh and diverse environments, to customers in the country. Savi is a division of Lockheed Martin.
