Transplace, Inc., a provider of transportation management and logistics technology, has launched a new subsidiary in Mexico. The unit will draw on the company's network of core carriers to provide service throughout the country. Transplace Mexico will offer supply-chain visibility and integrated transitions between service providers when goods cross the U.S.-Mexico border. Services will include transportation-management systems, freight brokerage, U.S. and Mexican customs brokerage, border processing, warehousing and distribution, ocean forwarding, non-vessel operating common carriage, and airfreight. Transplace Mexico officially opened its Laredo, TX office in December, 2007. The company will also maintain operations and sales staff in Mexican cities such as Nuevo Laredo, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City. Transplace in a non-asset-based third-party logistics provider serving manufacturers and retailers.
