Etihad Crystal Cargo, a division of Etihad Airways, is introducing short message service (SMS) tracking so customers can follow the status of freight shipments worldwide via mobile telephone.
By sending a text message to a specified Etihad Crystal Cargo telephone number, customers can obtain real-time information about the status of their consignments. Customers can also track multiple shipments at a time in a single SMS message.
"It is vital for our customers to know at any time exactly where in the world their shipment is located," says Des Vertannes, Etihad Airways' executive vice president of cargo. "Furthermore, by tracking their shipment so precisely our customers will be able to improve the efficiency of their own businesses."
