River Logic, Inc., a vendor of integrated business-planning software, has expanded its Enterprise Optimizer (EO) application. The product is now available with a 64-bit parallel-processing solver. The new hybrid version of EO, known as EO64h, reduces "pre-solve" processing time by as much as 50 percent, the vendor claimed. In addition, EO64h can effectively process models beyond the 2 GB limit found in the MIO 32-bit serial architecture. EO64h analyzes mathematical representations that require as much as a million equations and more than a million variables in a typical solve route. The equations are different in each scenario, and are designed by the software to address specific problems defined by the user, who can change constraints, variables or optimization objective functions without recreating the model each time.
