Global outsourcing is no longer just for big corporations. Increasingly, Main Street businesses from car dealers to advertising agencies are finding it easier to farm out software development, accounting, support services, and design work to freelancers in distant lands.Forecasts that the Web would revolutionize work by creating a vast global market for professionals have been around since the early '90s. But while other forms of e-commerce caught fire quickly, Web sites for freelancers have only recently begun to generate much momentum. Market researcher Evalueserve estimates that revenues for online service marketplaces will grow 20 percent in 2008, to $190m.
