Nari Viswanathan, research director of supply chain management with Aberdeen Group, traces the evolution of this group to its current state of affairs. He discusses what it might take for these companies to craft global supply chains that are characterized by multi-layer collaboration. In this scenario, they begin to achieve visibility of product throughout the chain, and two-way communications with key suppliers and customers around the world.
