When considering nearshoring, staffing experts can help with finding multilingual talent with the same values as yours, says Mia Mazal, business development and partnership manager at Sworkz.
That labor is difficult to find and keep is no longer news. So why not consider looking outside your area, maybe even think about locating at least part of your operations in another country where labor is abundant and easy to come by?
“Because it’s very, very hard to find people to fill staffing solutions,” Mazal says, “we often encourage people to look into nearshoring or offshoring solutions. This is the concept of taking part of your operations and placing them in in other countries. You have a partner or a provider helping you access a global talent pool of young, high-performing, high-quality professionals that might assist in filling those roles, whether it's operations, sales, marketing, technology or accounting. If it can be done remotely, it can definitely be done through a nearshoring service provider.”
This is not to say that labor shortages don’t exist in some places abroad. But there’s a global talent pool of multilingual professionals that can be tapped in many places, Mazal says. Accessing that talent can enable you to build relationships in places and markets you previously may have discounted or overlooked entirely. “I see it always moving in the direction of continuing to build those international ties around the world,” she says.
At the same time, one’s office in, say, Colombia is still part of the team in Texas or Florida. If there was a lesson in the pandemic, surely it was that we have the technology and platforms to work remotely, be that locally or overseas.
Working with the right staffing provider will ensure your new hires will have capabilities and values that align with your organization, Mazal says. “That’s crucial.”
