LXE Inc., the wireless logistics-computing unit of EMS Technologies, Inc., has entered into a distribution agreement with ScanSource, Inc. Under the deal, ScanSource POS and Barcoding will distribute the entire LXE product line of rugged mobile computers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Bill Roeder, senior vice president and general manager of LXE, called the arrangement a "significant" step in the development of the company's indirect business, which in recent years has grown to account for more than half of revenues. ScanSource resellers will benefit from access to LXE's rugged devices that operate in the cold chain, intermodal transport and other demanding environments, the companies said. LXE's product line includes rugged handheld, wearable and vehicle-mounted computers. The company also offers radio integration, project and installation management, network design, technical support and repair services. ScanSource, a distributor of specialty technology products, operates seven sales units in North America, Latin America and Europe.
