Logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has awarded Rutgers University freshman Ava Shertenlieb its Supply Chain Leadership Scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Started in 2020, the scholarship was originally devised by Gebrüder Weiss as a way to support students pursuing careers in supply chain management and logistics, and to lower cost barriers for college. Shertenlieb was selected for "her academic focus and commitment to the field," according to a May 6 release.
"We launched our scholarship program at Rutgers to open doors to supply chain careers," said Gebrüder Weiss North America CEO Mark McCullough. "Supporting students like Ava is an important part of how we invest in the next generation of supply chain leaders."
Shertenleib said that moving forward, the scholarship will allow her to dedicate more time to her education and future career goals, and expressed gratitude for the support as she pursues a career in supply chain management and forensic accounting.
Gebrüder Weiss renewed its supply chain scholarship program with Rutgers for another five years in June 2025. Last year's winners included supply chain management and marketing double major Gabriel Godoi De Lima, supply chain management student Jun Pak, and marketing major Nikhil Walia. Rutgers' supply chain management undergraduate program is ranked among the top five in North America by Gartner, with 82% of graduates accepting job offers before leaving school.
