The Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) announced that classification society and technology provider DNV (Det Norske Veritas) has joined its DCSA+ partnership program, bringing its Veracity data platform, which enables businesses to securely share and reuse verified emissions and operational data related to container shipping.
DCSA says the inclusion of DNV’s Veracity platform enhances its efforts to build and support a trusted maritime data ecosystem across global container shipping.
Veracity connects a majority of the world’s container carrier fleet and more than 90 data and solutions partners globally, for the benefit of shipowners, charterers, ports, solution providers, and other stakeholders through standardized data flows.
DCSA says that, through DCSA+, Veracity will support the development and implementation of shared industry standards aimed at improving interoperability and enabling more seamless data exchange across stakeholders. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening trust, connectivity and consistency in maritime data.
“Maritime data only compounds in value when stakeholders trust it and can share it securely across their value chain,” said Mikkel Skou, executive director at Veracity by DNV, in a June 9 statement. “That trusted data foundation is what we are building through Veracity: thousands of vessels and 90 partners around verified, standardized data flows that support emissions reporting, green finance, and value-chain collaboration. Joining DCSA+ reinforces our commitment to interoperability and common industry standards."
