Maersk Logistics has joined the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics Supply Chain Exchange, where it will collaborate with researchers on enhancing carbon footprint methodologies, which Maersk Logistics will use in the enhancement of its SupplyChain CarbonCheck service.
CarbonCheck is a consulting service aimed at identifying carbon reduction potential in global supply chains. In a four-step methodology, Maersk Logistics identifies carbon emission reduction opportunities lowering overall logistics costs and maintaining or improving service levels.
"Maersk Logistics has joined MIT CTL's Supply Chain Exchange at an exciting time, when more and more of our research areas - from carbon-efficient supply chains to supply chain risk management--are becoming board-level issues," says Chris Caplice, executive director of the MIT CTL Center for Transportation & Logistics.
