Most companies and organizations have expanded and improved their supply chain's socially and environmentally responsible (SER) practices. That's good, but it's not enough, say the organizers of an environmental conference scheduled May 21, 2009, at Stanford University. The conference--called Advancing Socially and Environmentally Responsible Supply Chains: Innovation, Integration, Incentives--will focus on strategies companies can utilize to take supply chain responsibility to the next level. Speakers will explore such topics as integrating responsibility into the corporate DNA; improve visibility beyond tier-one suppliers; creating supplier incentives that result in win-wins; and adapting to volatile labor and energy costs.
The conference is presented by the Supply Chain Management Forum and the Center for Social Innovation at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
