Emerson Bearing has formed a new Marine Division to cater to the marine spares industry and port authorities. Emerson sells bearings and other industrial items to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) markets nationally and internationally. Under the new Marine Division, the company will assist clients in determining which bearing technologies are most suitable, taking into account such factors as specifications, recommendations, maintenance strategies, fatigue life and wear resistance. The marine spares industry and port authorities require constant uptime for their driveshafts, overhead cranes, forklift trucks and other applications, Emerson noted. The company's split roller bearings are designed for rapid replacement, especially in difficult-to-access locations such as driveshafts. Emerson said its worldwide freight relationships enable it to serve markets around the world, even meeting a ship at port if necessary. Other products manufactured by the company include belts, hydraulic cylinders, pumps and seals.
