SAP AG has devised new and enhanced products to support the use of mobile devices by information workers. New capabilities for the vendor's existing suite of mobile services, known as SAP xApps composite applications for mobile business, will improve worker productivity and decision-making abilities, SAP claimed. The suite provides remote access to customer and product information. The company has also developed the latest version of SAP NetWeaver Mobile, a mobile infrastructure that provides the foundation for SAP mobile products and allows for the building of customized applications through a service-oriented architecture (SOA). New capabilities allow sales staff to conduct trade-promotion evaluations and access customer feedback instantly while on the road. SAP is also adding new industry-specific capabilities to xApp Mobile Sales, for users in the consumer packaged goods business. They will be able to use their mobile devices to more effectively audit sales and manager customer profiles, the vendor said.
