he U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has selected Genco Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. to perform warehouse and distribution services at the Defense Distribution Depot in Richmond, Va. Valued at up to $12.7m, the contract has a base period of two years, plus three one-year options. It calls for Genco Infrastructure to provide a variety of distribution services, including receipt, packing, storage and issuance to U.S. military services and other federal government activities. Currently, the depot stores commodities in some 6m square feet of covered and uncovered storage areas, Genco said. The company is already providing logistics expertise to the Defense Logistics Agency. Genco Infrastructure is a subsidiary of Genco, a third-party logistics provider which specializes in reverse logistics, transportation, contract warehousing, pharmaceutical services, product liquidation, supply-chain analysis, parcel management, damage research and government infrastructure support.
