Descartes Systems Group has devised software that allows manufacturers and distributors to route, track in real time and report on the performance of their product merchandisers and sales representatives. Descartes' Sales & Merchandising Management application is an on-demand service which allows merchandisers and sales management more effectively to manage their mobile workforces, while ensuring the efficient delivery of products to retail stores, the vendor said. The software is part of Descartes' Delivery Management suite. The new tool includes weekly activity planning, stop sequencing, product-delivery synchronization, in-store activity communication with GPS-enabled phones, real-time tracking of product deliveries, status visibility for merchandisers and sales reps, actual miles driven and in-store time calculation, and consolidated performance reporting. The vendor offers standard integration with its delivery route-planning software applications.
