The standards cover all stages of refrigerant handling, from procurement and testing to storage and decanting, including the maintenance of refrigerant handling tools and the training of service technicians. Participating service centers will need to pass an audit conducted by Carrier Transicold’s global service organization, before they are authorized to display the CareMAX logo. A key goal of the program was to reduce the opportunity for counterfeit or contaminated refrigerants to enter the service channel, Carrier Transicold said.
