Cadec Global, a provider of truck fleet-management systems, has launched PowerVue, hosted software built on a service-oriented architecture (SOA). The tool integrates fleet information with existing routing, mapping and supply-chain management software. It creates dashboards of relevant information for each participant in the supply chain. It ensures compliance with federal and state regulations by automating paper-based administrative processes, such as DOT logs and fuel taxes. And it provides visibility into vehicle operations, including speed, location, route and idle time. PowerVue combines a Web interface with end-user customization, along with integration to systems throughout the supply chain. Users can create role-based dashboards to present data according to the needs of each recipient in the organization. They can also create customer-service portals for clients, to allow for the viewing of real-time information on delivery times, including a map that tracks truck locations.
