BlueStar Inc., a distributor of products for automatic identification, point-of-sale, mobility and radio frequency identification (RFID), is now handling the HX2 rugged wearable computer from LXE Inc., for warehouse applications. The unit is designed to be worn on the arm or waist, keeping both hands free for picking and other warehouse duties. It features an impact-resistant screen as well as a magnesium alloy front to survive rugged environments. Other features include a sunlight-readable display; large, backlit keys which can be customized for specific applications; an eyes-free keyboard with variably sized keys for no-look navigation; multiple data-capture options with laser ring scanner or 2D imager ring, and an armband that avoids slippage by securing the HX2 where the user desires it. The product comes loaded with Windows CE 5.0 Professional OS, and an 802.11b/g radio with Bluetooth option. LXE's suite of products for data-picking also includes the MX7 multimodal scanning and voice handheld computer, and HX1 dedicated voice computer.
