The program was confirmed by Tyson Foods CEO Donald Smith during a conference call. "We're expanding our relationship with AmazonFresh to sell fresh protein as well as partner with them around innovation," he said. "We plan to launch Tyson Taste Makers, a line of chef-inspired meal kits in premium proteins for home delivery with AmazonFresh this fall."
Tyson will take the lead in this program by training AmazonFresh employees about cuts of meat and cooking preparation, according to Smith.
The initiative could help grow AmazonFresh, the retailer's grocery delivery service available in a handful of large markets and now in expansion mode.
