Cognex is a maker of machine-vision systems, vision sensors and industrial ID readers. Code quality is critical to achieving read rates that allow for part traceability, the vendor said. DataMan 100V verifiers check the quality of Data Matrix codes to ensure that only well-marked parts enter the manufacturing and supply chains. They measure label and direct part-mark quality to all industry standards, according to Cognex. The equipment is designed to aid in the verification of part marks in the automotive, aerospace, packaging, electronic, healthcare and defense industries. Some companies use verification for process control at the marking station, to ensure the highest possible read rates and to minimize scrap and downtime in the manufacturing process. Available now, the DataMan 100V can be integrated into marking, labeling or other types of equipment, or as a complete turnkey system for contract-compliance applications.
