AI tech is currently used to sort through streams of data to find and predict patterns. It can be used to locate better sales leads, engage with customers, or track patterns of use. It even can allow vehicles to drive themselves.
All of this results in an opportunity for businesses to speed workflow or change how a company is staffed. This can mean that jobs currently performed by humans may get shifted to dedicated machinery, something that has periodically happened since the advent of the industrial era.
But what jobs will get automated within the next decade? And how will these changes affect the landscape of work as we know it? A panel of Forbes Technology Council members have this to say:
1. Compliance Jobs
According to a recent study highlighted in Harvard Business Journal, the most likely jobs to be replaced by automation (artificial intelligence) are compliance-related. For instance, many industries such as financial services, airlines, healthcare and food have very high governmental-compliance standards. These jobs are labor intensive but process driven, which make them ripe for automation, says Scott Stiner of UM Technologies, LLC.
