Menlo Worldwide Logistics, LLC has introduced a warehouse-management service within its multi-client network of logistics offerings. The announcement is the culmination of a two-year development process which began with a pilot program at the company's facility in Fremont, Calif. Menlo is now rolling out the system at six other facilities throughout the U.S., including in Atlanta, Ga.; Dallas, TX; Aurora, Ill.; Cranbury, N.J.; Fontana, Calif., and Portland, Ore. Outside the U.S., Menlo offers multi-client network facilities in Mexico, Canada, Asia and Europe. Customers gain access to Menlo's entire suite of supply-chain services, including transportation management, network optimization, order management, and distribution planning and fulfillment. The third-party logistics subsidiary of Con-way Inc. said it can tailor its offerings to customers of every size. According to the vendor, the offerings can help customers to mitigate asset risk, while providing a bridge between single-warehouse systems, such as those found in dedicated facilities, and public space. The multi-client approach offers customization, full warehouse management and a Lean philosophy of waste reduction and continuous improvement.
