CargoGulf, a non-vessel operating common carrier, has opened its first office in the U.K., part of a strategy to increase its presence in that market. The office, located in Manchester, doubles the company's staffing levels and quadruples its office space. CargoGulf has been represented in the U.K. through agency network agreements since 1985. According to the company, the country has shown strong business growth over the past two years, with a number of new trades coming onstream. CargoGulf expects the establishment of an office in the U.K. to further escalate that growth, and provide increased visibility to clients. It is aiming for an increase in less-than-containerload business in all core trade lanes. CargoGulf also maintains offices in Singapore, Dubai and Jakarta. The Asia-U.K. trade lane is an especially strong source of business, the company said.
