The VersaLex Trader (VLTrader) software of Cleo Communications now offers the option of outbound faxing. VersaLex FAX (VLFax) lets companies send outbound faxes directly through VLTrader. The capability provides an alternative communications method for locations that either request faxing or cannot accept other methods of electronic data transfer. VLFax can also provide backup communications when other methods are not available. Sending a fax through VLTrader is accomplished using Cleo's remote fax service, accessed through the TCP/IP communications protocol. A preconfigured Cleo fax host is provided to the user with settings defined. Documents to be faxed are defined with a PUT command within a "send" action. The same document can be sent to multiple recipients. Document types accepted by VLFax include Adobe PDF (.pdf), Microsoft Excel (.xls or .xlsx), Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), Tagged Image File Format (.tif or .tiff) and Text (.txt).
