Evergreen Line has announced two new service enhancements in its global container routes. In response to increasing demand from emerging markets in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America regions, the line has launched a new Far East Panama Service. It is deploying eight vessels, each of 2,728 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). The first, the Aphrodite, sailed on May 24 from Kaohsiung. The port rotation is Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Lazaro Cardenas, Colon Container Terminal (Panama) and back to Kaohsiung. The new service is restructured from Evergreen's existing China-U.S. East Coast (CUE) service. It will offer greater capacity and improved transit time, the line said. Evergreen also announced the replacement of its existing North Asia-China-Australia Express Service (NCA) with a new Taiwan-China-Australia Express (TCA) service at the end of May. The new offering will allow Evergreen to link East Asia with Australia for the first time. Ports of call are Kaohsiung, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Kaohsiung.
