The government of the United Kingdom made £31 million ($38.7 million) available June 8 for equipment to boost farm productivity, increase environmental sustainability and help with slurry management. This money was made available via a recent round of funding from the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF).
The U.K. government believes farmers will greatly benefit from the new round of funding because they will be given access to money that can be used to purchase new equipment and bolster their sustainable food production efforts while simultaneously cutting back on emissions and waste.
Successful program applicants will be able to claim grants under the Productivity and Slurry budget, helping cover the cost of more than 90 pieces of manufacturing equipment from rainwater harvesting tanks to tree sheers.
The FETF 2023 is a part of the government’s greater commitment to invest £2.4 billion per year in farming. The government has already made £168 million available to farmers and food producers in 2023 alone.
