Walmart celebrated the grand opening of a new high-tech fulfillment center based in Texas October 17. The 1.5 million-square-foot venue is located just 15 miles south of Dallas at 2500 Belt Line Road in Lancaster.

This facility is just the third of its kind to be built by Walmart. Another next-generation fulfillment center is scheduled to be opened by Walmart in 2026.

“Walmart is paving the way for good jobs and great careers in the Dallas region with the Lancaster fulfillment center. These tech-powered jobs will drive the future of Walmart’s continued promise of speedy shipping and delivery for customers in the south-central U.S. just in time for the holidays,” said Karisa Sprague, the senior vice president of Fulfillment Network Operations for Walmart U.S. “Our next generation fulfillment centers are the perfect example of how we are a people-led, tech-powered retailer.”

The new facility will employ over 1,000 full- and part-time Walmart associates.
