Advanced manufacturing promises to transform rural America. But the primary education system must step up to support it.
Huge investments in advanced manufacturing are in the works, and rural America in particular stands to benefit. Of the $1 trillion in projects already announced, around 63% is earmarked for projects located within 15 miles of rural communities. But they’ll only be successful if there’s a steady supply of labor with the right training and core skills. And that can only happen with the support of the K through 12 school system. On this episode, we’re joined by Doug Scott, senior expert with McKinsey, who shares the results of research from the McKinsey Institute for Economic Mobility about how communities are gearing up to capitalize on an economic revival that could create some $34 billion in new annual wages. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
