As the recession continues to take its toll on supply chains, a recent survey of supply chain executives shows that visibility into tier-two suppliers throughout the multi-tier, multi-layered demand-supply networks is a critical key factor for saving money.
According to a recent Gatepoint Research survey:
-- More than half of the 1,100 supply chain executives that participated in the survey do not have access to real-time supply chain information
--75 percent lack fully automated data collection and consolidations systems
This limited visibility into tier-two component suppliers is continuing to hamper supply chain executives from making informed, cost-effective decisions. The research was conducted on behalf of E2open, a supply chain visibility and control solutions provider.
